"Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.”

This is Ava’s favorite quote, and I love it because it reminds me to not rush through life. She adds, “It reminds me to be grateful for all the little things in life, and to never take anything for granted”. Ava has been busy crafting memories in her time at Bishop Garrigan High School, and has been very involved in the student life and culture there. In her four years, she has been part of the volleyball, basketball, cheerleading, and golf teams, and part of many fine arts organizations. These include things like concert choir, show choir, jazz choir, and drama, among others. Lastly, she lent her talents to the Bear Facts, a weekly radio show at the school. “Being part of these things was my favorite part of high school”, she shared with me, “it was a great opportunity and way to express myself and find what I loved to do”.

Being creative and expressive is something that Ava loves, and she also describes herself as very personable. “Art has always been a passion of mine, and I am going to continue this passion as I head into my next step and career”, she continues, “I have decided to continue my education at Iowa State University and major in architecture. I chose this because I love design, and wanted to have a career in this field. I hope to one day become licensed and work for a firm designing residential or commercial buildings.”

Although Ava was nervous coming into her shoot (she said she was nervous because she wanted it to be perfect), she really relaxed and came alive in front of the lens, sharing, “I really loved my hair and makeup, and Heidi did a great job making me look just how I wanted. I loved how Britney made me feel comfortable and helped me relax”. I had worked with her family on other shoots, so it was a true joy to reconnect for this senior session! Congratulations, sweet Ava, on your graduation!
