This might be my best newborn post to date. Not because it's beautifully worded or because the pictures are the best quality, but because it is so full of love I can hardly stand it. I know because it's my life and I feel it with every fiber of my being. This little girl that we prayed and sacrificed for is here and she is ours and she is perfect. I actually worried that I wouldn't have enough love to go around. She showed me that I did in, oh, about 2 seconds! So without further ado, here is my daughter, Piper Joann...

Life for the past week has been pretty great honestly! She's been a great baby and I even look forward to the sleepless nights for some extra added snuggles. Carson is totally smitten and can't get enough of her. We've had lots of visitors but mostly I love the quiet with her when I can just stare at how perfect she is. Oh how I've missed that glorious newborn smell! The miracle of life really is breathtaking!

I feel like since you guys have literally been with me through the entire journey I owe you a little juice on how labor was. FAST, I was in labor most of the day at home, but I got to the hospital around 4:00 and she was born at 5:55. I was about 1/2 way dilated when I got there and they attempted an epidural... EPIC FAIL! As in the needle was in my back grinding around trying to find that perfect little pocket to take all the pain away. I finally used a few colorful words, ever so kindly telling the guy if he didn't back away from me with his hands in the air I would certainly rip his face off. Just like that it was time to push and in no time she was in my arms. She was more beautiful than even I had pictured. This journey that we started so long ago was in it's final chapter. All the doctor appointments and the shots and the tests and turning our lives upside down just to question our decisions. I had my answer when I saw her wrinkly, slimy body get thrown on my chest. She was exactly what we were watiting for. Perfection, and so I knew my late grandma would be her namesake.

Final chapter of our journey to become a family of four, but only the beginning of our lifetime together...
